HARVEST PLATTER 2014
The Federation Harvest Platter competition 2014 was held at the Federation meeting 9th October in Rathowen Hall. A staff member from O'Meara's garden centre judged the competition and announed the overall winners as the Horseleap/Streamstown Guild.
NATIONAL BROWN BREAD BAKING COMPETITION
In Association with the National Ploughing Association and sponsor Aldi Stores Ireland a national brown bread baking competition was held in 2014. Over 20 entries from various Guilds in Westmeath participated in Federation competitions in June, the winner then going on to represent the Federation at the Ploughing Championships in September. From a total of 27 finalists nationally our Westmeath winner Kathleen Kelly came 2nd. A big congratulations to Kathleen on her achievement.
